Capital Quest: Buenos Aires, Brasília, and the Road to Asunción
Most people say they want to "see the world." I've decided to make that goal concrete. My project is simple: visit the political capital of every country on Earth. A finite mission. A measurable mission. The first capital on the list was Buenos Aires. Walking through the city, seeing the political and cultural heart of Argentina, I unknowingly started a long-term journey. The second was Brasília. As the capital of my own country, it reminded me that capitals are more than tourist destinations. They are centers of decision-making, symbols of national identity, and windows into how societies organize themselves. Today, the next move is decided. Asunción. A quick flight, or Bus from Brazil, one of the most accessible capitals in South America, and another step forward in a project that may take years—or even decades—to complete.
